I only have experience sailing dingy type yachts when i was a kid.

I’ve looked on many sites and I’m still having trouble finding the boat I want. My requirements are:

42ft length
20ft beam
4 staterooms
Under $900,000
Power-boat, not sail
New or Used

This isn’t a “wanted ad”, I’m just looking for some help finding the right web-sites.

I am a Uk citizen and I want to buy a yacht in the US and sail it back to the UK this summer, now whilst I am an experienced sailor, I am not familiar with the buying process in the US and the paperwork etc. I am looking for a sail boat between 28 and 34 foot. any advice?

okay, please don’t say its either necromancing, riding/mounting, SAILING, yachting (anything that has o do with boats or water sitting on >.<), or music. because it won't be. MANY, MANY mods have already declared that it will definetly, not be sailing, at all, whatsoever. so i don't see hwy you cant get it thru your thick heads that it wont be! jagex does not lie! if so, give me 2 examples, if not 2, 1...

I know this sonds crazy but I need if for a scene in a play. The people are restoring an old sailing yacht outside and a storm comes up. Nobody wants to quit working so they grab things and bring them into the banquet room of the mansion. The effect should be shocking as in Oh my god you can’t bring THAT into the dining room. A whole mast would probably be to big but other than that, anything that can be worked on separate from the boat would be good. Maybe part of the engine. Maybe something that needs to be sanded or painted. Suggestions?

So for Father’s Day, we are taking my dad to Lake Cumberland and going out on the boat and everything. I am making a play list on my iPod with some songs on it and I can’t think of any more. I have a ton of Jimmy Buffet, Kenny Chesney, Bob Marley. I Have Surfin’ USA, Redneck yacht Club, and Come Sail Away With Me. I Am Stuck! Your help is greatly appreciated!

I’m going to purchase something like a Zuma 13′ sailboat and want to learn how to really sail it. However all the lessons out here (long beach, ca) are all ‘certification’ courses and cost 500 – 700 dollars and you pretty much have to join their ‘yacht’ club… It seems like a little bit of overkill. Where can I learn to simply sail a dinghy in my bay without learning how to sail a 25′ keel boat and learn navigation etc.. it seems like that should come later as I grow learning how to sail?

Is there an online source to get me started so I can just jump in and cruise around and experiment? I’m already reading a decent book.. What are the real advantages of spending that kind of money on a school at this stage?

We have an IPY 485 sailing yacht and we have these curtains on the boat: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v670/DixieTigerGirl/IMG_2963.jpgand the problem that we have is how to get them to stay on the windows that look like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v670/DixieTigerGirl/IMG_2964.jpg . We have tried using velcro, but the adhesive does not hold up in the heat of summer in Charleston, SC. It separates from the actual velcro and the curtains fall. We think our next form of getting them to stay up is snaps, but we just wanted to know if anyone out there with yachts, boats, etc. have found a less permanent solution to the curtain issue. We don’t really want to drill holes if we don’t have to, but we will eventually have to if we can’t find another kind of velcro adhesive. Does anyone know of a kind of connector like velcro that has a strong adhesive that will stand up to the heat of a Carolina summer?

The biggest problem is that the window is at an angle… so rods won’t work.
Ok… let me clear some stuff up… first off- It’s the fiance’s family’s boat… not mine. So “cheaping off on the curtains” was not my idea. Second- these curtains are specially cut to fit each window. My fiance’s brother’s wife (at the time) bought the fabric in Paris and had them made to fit each window… the problem is getting them to stay up without damaging the boat. No “cheaping” out in this department.

this is very important to my parents because they like sailing. i have chosen to only date christian men who own a boat/yacht so i can make the christ and my parents happy.
btw this whole question’s sarcasm if you haven’t gotten it by now but an ark with a wine cellar sounds good my mom’s a fan of wine.
if it’s so easy to choose who you like why shouldn’t i choose to like someone who already owns a boat for my parents sake and of course he has to be a christian.
